Fish Fry! (Bittersweet)

You know what you call a fish with no eyes?

A fsh.

You could also call it a meal I suppose! That’s what we did just other day.

As most people know, aquaponics is a unique process because it produces vegetables and meat in the same process. The fish waste feeds the plants and the plants purify the water for the fish.

After about a year of growing, the tilapia that we use in our system get up to around 1-1.5 lbs. Once they’re that size, it’s time to harvest!

It was kind of a bittersweet time for me. As silly as it might seem, I developed a connection to the fish. It was a bit sad to watch them go. It had to be done, though, because if the fish get too old they will go to waste.
