Excited about new growth

We have been building our greenhouse and our aquaponics systems in the greenhouse for almost 2 years. Everyday seems to bring on more projects that need done-repairing leaks, re-plumbing to upgrade, new electric, waterproofing foundation, etc. With all this, it has been hard to actually do what I want to do and that is garden in the winter!

Well we did finally plant some seeds last week, mostly lettuce, cabbage, mescaline, arugula, spinach, and a couple of tomato & cucumber plants. I am so excited to see the growth that has occurred in just a week!

We are experimenting a little also; we planted a potato! I have never tried root crops in an Aquaponics setup so I am really interested to see how this does. I will of course record the progress here as it occurs, but our next major venture will be time consuming-Taking the greenhouse off-the-grid with solar power!
